One building, three names

Why it was called 30 Main

The DiDomenico family opened it in 2013, as the answer to something they had noticed after a lifetime on the Main Line: plenty of good places to eat around here, and nowhere to actually go out.

That is the whole idea, and it is still the idea. It is the reason we bought it.

Why the name changed the first time

By 2023 the name had stopped describing the place.

30 Main is the name of a restaurant. What the building had become was a restaurant and an event floor upstairs, and a catering kitchen, and a room with DJs and dancing in it. One name was doing four jobs badly, so it became Midtown Social.

Family-run, out of Easttown Township. One building, one team, no second location.

And why it is changing again

Same reason, one step further along.

We are keeping every one of those four things and adding to the music. So the room takes the address instead of a description — 660 LIVE — because the address has been true the whole time and will not go out of date when the room changes again.

That is the only thing changing. Same corner, same building, same phone, same people behind the bar. More on that.

This is not our story to tell

The thirteen years before us belong to the family who built them.

We are not going to write ourselves into them, and we are not going to pretend the room started when we got here. What we will do is keep the parts that worked — the Midtown Margarita keeps its name, the house rules carry over because they make sense, and the mural on Main Avenue stays exactly as it is.

A neighborhood remembers a name before it remembers a logo. Three names on one corner, and the corner is the part people actually remember.
